HOME

We have been searching for a house to purchase. This is Jim's first choice. Nancy thinks it is a bit on the dark side but maybe with new paint and lighting it will brighten up.
Entry way. Front door and the stairs to the first floor and stairs leading down to the kellar (cellar). The haupte (main) level has a large living/dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms and 1&1/2 baths. The first floor has the same. The basement has the same.

Fireplace on the main living room.

Main floor living room.

Main floor kitchen.

Winter in Germany

Winter weather has arrived. During the day, the chairs and tables are cleared and blankets are placed on the chairs for customers to snuggle in while they enjoy a hot drink.
All of Germany is celebrating the holidays with Festivals. Lots of gifts ideas and plenty of good food and drinks.

Refreshments at a Christmas Festival in Rüdesheim Germany; a lovely village on the Rhine River.

Nancy drinking Glühwein (Christmas mulled wine) and eating pommes frites (french fries), YUM-O

THANKSGIVING IN ENGLAND

We enjoyed the music while Julie performed at a local pub. Great voice.
Treva showing Jim how much she appreciates his culinary talents. Jim cooked the turkey.

Here is the spread with all our traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Treva and Rod were able to accomodate 12-15 people in their home. Nobody left hungry.

Rod getting ready to drive us to the Bristol airport.

Treva bidding us farewell. We hope that hey will be able to come visit us in Germany. We have visited them before. They are great hosts. We always have lots of fun.

After SAndi and Steve headed home Todd and Jenn went south for awhile and eventually made their way back to Kaiserslautern. They have a Mediterrean cruise coming up then a week or two more in Europe before they head back to Maryland. We love for them to visit.

Tempory Quarters

Nancy' apartment is on the very top floor (attic) of this building. In Europe it is located on the third floor but in the United States it is the fourth floor. Regardless there are 60 steps from the courtyard to the top floor. After you huff and puff your way up to the apartment you'll find a spacious flat with two bedrooms, living room, bath, dining room, kitchen, and roof top deck with great views of downtown.
Nancy stayed at the Ramstein Inn for six nights and then moved to an apartment in Kaiserslautern. The apartment is located on the pedestrian only Markt Strasse. Lots of shopping opportunities and many, many great restaurants. Just wish Jim was here. Parking is included with the apartment. The car park is underground and around the corner from the apartment.
